Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a dynamic Process Technician to join our growing company. Process Technicians at Viasat are involved in many manufacturing phases of the project; from the release of hardware to the manufacturing floor through delivery of a finished product. Our Process Technicians work with Program teams to plan out the product stages and best practices to be used out on the factory floor. They have a high level of technical expertise and skill, which they use to set-up, modify, optimize, and monitor production processes. They examine process flows and look for ways to streamline production and improve turnaround times. As part of our Production Team, we are looking for someone to coordinate the release of new products, work on sustaining existing products, and provide failure analysis of returned products. You will be responsible to make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. You must have the proven ability to convert engineering parts lists into fully procurable bills of materials (BOM) with internal part numbers, supplier part numbers, and alternate suppliers. Your communication and interpersonal skills will come into play as you work across multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
3+ years' experience in manufacturing.
Ability to interface with all levels of Engineering, Quality Assurance and Production teams
Ability to generate assembly rework instructions for assembling hardware and test equipment.
Ability to identify discrepancies in paperwork (work instructions & engineering drawings).
Experience with assembly of hardware (electrical and mechanical)
Experience troubleshooting process problems in a technical environment.
Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
Accountable for meeting responsibilities and deadlines
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate across levels and functions. Excellent organizational skills.
Associate's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience
U.S. Government Position. U.S. Citizenship Required. Preferences
Ability to use common hand tools
Ability to perform general soldering operations
Ability to perform general wiring operations
Ability to perform general machine maintenance
Ability to stand for many hours
Ability to assemble electronic modules
Familiarity with document control system (AGILE) and implementing required revision controls
Clean room experience.
ESD experience
Understanding of basic electrical/RF concepts

IPC-A-610 certification history
IPC-A-620 certification history
NASA-STD-8739.1 knowledge
